Research Manager: Water Resource Assessment and Planning
Wandile Nomquphu is a geologist with further post-grad
qualifications in hydrology and geography, and has extensive
practical experience as a hydrologist, and is currently leading
research groups that are undertaking projects on water resources
assessment, planning and development. Nomquphu’s key focus is on
developing a scientific understanding of the hydrological cycle (and
inter-linkages) in order to promote systematic water assessment and
planning. His main responsibility is to manage research that will
promote better understanding of the variability of the quantity and
quality of water available for use and development in South Africa.
Sound water resource assessment and planning can only be achieved
with reasonably accurate and consistently recorded and processed
data and information.
