13 October 2006, Abudja, NigeriaThe first UNESCO-IHP Africa Regional Committees meeting in 2006 was hosted in Abuja by the Nigerian focal point and was aimed at the IHP-VII; towards achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals in Africa.

The 2nd Africa Regional meeting of the National Committees of UNESCO’s International Hydrological Programme. The aims of the IHP meeting were to follow-up on the Abuja (2006) recommendations; to engage the membership in discussions on the UNESCO IHP-VII implementation strategies; and to strengthen partnerships.
