Proposal Submission Schedule for 2010 (For funding to commence in 2011)

Non-solicited Proposals

May 3: Call for non-solicited proposals by special announcement on the WRC website. This will be accompanied by a list of preferred thrusts and programmes (research areas) to be addressed together with an indication of funds available against each research area. FMS on-line submission system opens.

July 2: Deadline for submission of Non-solicited proposals.

Solicited Proposals

 June 2:  Publication of Terms of Reference (ToR’s) and Call for proposals.

July 2: Deadline for submission of Solicited proposals.

Screening of proposals  

July 16 - 22: Internal screening of proposals and identification and selection  of reviewers in accordance with specific criteria.

Review and selection process

July 23 – October 2010: Proposals are reviewed by external specialists and submitted to a rigorous evaluation and selection process.

 November – December 2010: Final selection by WRC Executive of proposals recommended for funding and communication to proposers of outcome of selection process.

January to March 2011: Preparation and signing of contracts.
