Water quality data and information: A communicator’s manual
Expanded Title:This project arose out of a perceived need to provide recommendations for the way in which data and information relating to water quality can best be communicated to various target audiences. Improving this communication allows the full value to be realised of the generally considerable investment in data acquisition. The project products are a user’s manual and a separate report describing the research methodology. The manual is aimed primarily at people responsible for communicating water quality information in both the public and private sectors. The manual provides a number of mechanisms for finding information in the manual. Besides the usual contents page and lists of tables and figures, a one page “Manual Roadmap” is also given and Chapter 2 describes “How to Use this Manual”. Other chapters cover General recommendations, Data categories, Communication tools and media, Scenario-specific recommendations, and information to help those receiving water quality communications to understand basic concepts.
