The WRC aims to create awareness about its funding priorities, the proposal cycle as well as proposal evaluation and project management processes. As such, four WRC 101 workshops will be held in different regions throughout South Africa

All current and future project leaders as well as leading researchers are invited to attend this workshop.  It would also be valuable for contract managers of research institutions who have been awarded WRC projects to attend this workshop.  There will also be specific focus on the WRC IP policy and contractual requirements in this regard.

Not only will be the proposal cycle and review processes be discussed, but the workshop will also focus on the end-user to familiarise researchers with the internet functionalities of the WRC web-based proposal management and funding system.

Venue details will be sent to all those that have registered by the deadline, 12 April 2014, and upon confirmation of space available.

Preference will be given to applicants that are from provinces other than Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape as well as applicants from higher education institutions. Please also note that we will not fund travel to other provinces if there is a WRC 101 workshop being conducted in the province in which you reside. Successful applicants will need to make their own travel arrangements and complete a travel claim form the WRC. Conditions apply. Interested parties must submit a short motivation to Mrs Zagry Scholtz at zagrys@wrc.org.za or fax: 012-331 2565 before 12 April 2014.
