Seeing the environment through the eyes of the child

As the world focuses on the impacts of climate change and the possible stresses it will have on our   water resources in the near future, the WRC took a step of raising environmental awareness amongst the future decision makers, through the work of art.  On 8 December 2011, the Commission hosted about 41 children to have fun with water while conveying messages about water conservation and demand management.

Although the kids had fun with art, this offered an opportunity for the WRC to see the world through the eyes of children.

Mr Dhesigen Naidoo, CEO of Water Research Commission emphasised the need to plant a seed of water knowledge as early as possible in order to curb the water crisis that could affect our water resources in the near future.

While having fun with art, the kids developed very attractive water paintings and mosaic pieces of art which will eventually be displayed at the WRC offices to mark of these kid’s footprint towards water knowledge.
