Help to save Colbyn Valley from the Pompom weed!

Friends of Colbyn Valley, in association with the ARC, WRC, South African Wetland Society and WETREST, invites you to take part in a 'POMPOM HACK' on Saturday, 15 February in celebration of World Wetlands Day 2014. In the afternoon, a 'Wetland Basics' field-course for kids will be presented by wetland specialist Piet-Louis Grundling.  This is a great opportunity for your kids to gain some hands-on wetland knowledge. (The target age range for the course is 8–13, but adults are also very welcome.)

The programme for the day is as follows:

8:00                Assemble in Scout Hall for presentations on wetlands, pompom weed and its control

9:00–11:00      Removal of pompom weed and release of biocontrol agents

11:00–13:00    Bring & braai lunch at Scout Hall

13:00–15:00    Wetland Basics field-course for kids

Please RSVP to adril@arc.agric.za.  For map to Scout Hall see: www.5thpretoria.co.za/contact
