A Green call to action 67 Minutes Celebrating Mandela Day

The WRC has again partnered with the ARC, City of Tshwane and IWMI for Mandela Day, this time to remove litter and alien plants from the historic 158-year old Pretoria Fountain and source of the mighty Apies River.

Date:                 Friday, 18 July 2014

Time:                 0:30am – 12:30

Place:                Fountains Valley, Groenkloof  Nature Reserve

Transport:          Own  

Programme:      10:30      Welcome

10:45      History and importance of Fountains as water source for Pretoria

11:00      Clean-up

12:15      Competition

12:30      Closure

 If you are interested:

 Confirm your attendance by emailing Zagry (zagrys@wrc.org.za) by Friday 11 July 2014 (12:00) as we need to give the numbers Tshwane Nature Conservation Office to arrange entry.

 Bring a hat, sunscreen, old takkies or gumboots

Bring food for a picnic (12:30 – 14:00)

There will also be a competition with great prizes to be won (see attached announcements): to enter, make your own drinking device (cup, jug, bottle and other goods) out of recyclable material and come ready to drink from the Fountain! The most creative drinking device will win.
