Description

The main objectives of this Dialogue are to to look at :
• Water use (or evapotranspiration) of species selected as potential SFRA crops (Bamboo spp., Moringa spp., Paulownia spp., indigenous tree spp and perhaps biofuel crops) in South Africa;
• Improving the knowledge of the water use of different forestry genera (Eucalyptus, Wattle and Pine);
• Modelling the impact of SFRA on water resource/yield of the system and the application of models in the SFRA licensing assessment process; 
• Determination of appropriate hydrological  buffer zones between different SFRA (current &  potential) and watercourses (as defined in the National Water Act, 1998)
• Improving the baseline: Acocks to Mucina & Rutherford
