This conference is three full days of technical and poster sessions on issues related to our sector, there will also be many opportunities for networking and socialising.
A pre-conference workshop/tour day is also scheduled for September, 16th: Technical Tour: This one-day tour will commence with a visit to the Two Streams Research Catchment, one of the few remaining small catchment research areas in South Africa, to be followed by stop-overs at both the Lilani and Shu Shu Thermal Springs.
Groundwater & Municipalities Workshop: This accredited workshop focuses on capacitating local government and those directly involved with localised water issues. It aims to introduce delegates to groundwater potential and cover additional topics in sessions on planning, usage, development, monitoring and management.
Groundwater Exploration Workshop: This workshop will offer insights (and divulge some expert “secrets”) into the different techniques for different environments when exploring for groundwater. Concluding with some contemporary research and challenges, open-floor discussions will offer extensive opportunities for questions and inputs.

WRC Dialogue Session on "Karoo Aquifers and Unconventional Gas Exploration"
On Day 1, following the formal Conference Opening this dedicated plenary session will introduce local case studies and present local expert papers. A moderated panel discussion will offer a platform for wide participation.
